Anthony Doyle – 2025 District I Award Recipient
While most pharmacy students wait until their clinical rotations to gain hospital experience, Anthony Doyle Saint Joseph’s ’24 is already filling in-patient medication orders, restocking automated medication dispensers, and working in the sterile IV room at Lankenau Medical Center.
As a part-time pharmacy technician, Anthony delivers medications to hospital wards and manages medication distribution systems — hands-on experience that’s preparing him for his PharmD program before he’s even started his professional years. Beginning next year, he’ll enter pharmacy school full-time, earning certifications in immunization and gaining field experience through introductory rotations at various clinical sites before his final year of advanced practice.
“Technician work will not only help me through schooling academically and financially, but also assist in building my network of pharmacy colleagues,” Anthony explains about how his current role gives him the perfect foundation for his intended career path in clinical pharmacy.
Anthony’s commitment to service extends far beyond the hospital. Since sixth grade, he’s served as an altar server at St. Monica Parish in South Philadelphia, and continues serving during college breaks for major celebrations like Christmas midnight mass and Easter Vigil. He’s also volunteered with multiple organizations over the years to distribute food to Philadelphia’s homeless and underserved populations.
In addition to holding leadership roles within the chapter and campus community, Anthony enjoys reading philosophy from C.S. Lewis, Boethius, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius — thinkers who explore the intersection of reason and faith. “Having good morals and a logical, intelligent mind allows for the Creed to be embraced in a more powerful capacity,” Anthony reflects. Through Phi Psi, he’s learned that developing these virtues creates “compassion and commitment to his Fraternity, its Brothers, and any mode of service.”
Whether managing hospital medication systems or serving his community, Anthony approaches every responsibility as an opportunity to develop the intellectual, moral, and spiritual excellence that defines both his professional path and personal character.
In 2025, Brother Doyle was awarded the Phi Psi Foundation’s District I Award, recognizing students from District I who demonstrate academic achievement, character, and commitment to their studies.
