James E. Hagler After attending Vanderbilt, Jim graduated from the University of Tennessee in Civil Engineering. He is the managing partner of Hagler Farms in Kingston, Tennessee, an approximately 3,500 acre operation producing registered and commercial beef cattle, corn, wheat, soybeans and timber. Prior to this, he served the Shell Oil Company as a senior engineer in charge of economic analysis, design and construction of pipeline and rail transportation facilities and analysis of petroleum product logistics systems. He's married to Jean, and they have three daughters, Patti, Julie and Heidi (all members of Zeta Tau Alpha). Jim is a volunteer to more than the Foundation and serves as the chapter advisor to Tennessee Epsilon - a chapter he assisted in reorganizing in l985. He comments that advising has been "an educational opportunity unique in [his] life experience" and was so positive that it gave him the desire to further support the Fraternity by serving as a Foundation Trustee. He's done such a good job that he was awarded Outstanding Chapter Advisor at the 1993 Woodrow Wilson Leadership School. More recently, the Tennessee Epsilon chapter honored him with a transfer membership in l998. He is a retired Director of First Vantage Bank, a division of First Virginia Banks, Inc. and NBC Bank, a division of National Bank of Commerce and is a registered professional engineer.
