D. Bruce McMahan Bruce is the Controlling General Partner and CEO of McMahan Securities Co. L.P. and is a member of the firm's Executive and Investment Policy committees. He began trading convertible securities for his own account in 1961. From 1966 through 1969 he managed private investment accounts in Southern California. From 1969 through 1974, he was the Managing Director of Genesis, S.A., a European-based investment manager for a number of Swiss and American investors. In 1975 he created the National Institutional Options Department at PaineWebber, Inc., and from 1977 through 1980, Bruce headed the institutional and Retail Options Department at Bear Stearns & Co. where he became a partner. In September of 1980, he started predecessor organizations to McMahan Securities Co. L.P. Dr. McMahan graduated from the University of Southern California in 1960 and in 1992 earned his Ph.D. in Labor Economics from the Union Institute, where he also served for ten years as a trustee and from which he received the Presidents Medal for Exemplary Service. His major public service emphasis now centers on founding and chairing the National Christina Foundation (named after his daughter), which is engaged at more than 500 locations in applying computer and information transfer technology to the challenges facing people with differing abilities. Bruce lives in Westchester County, New York and part of the year in Fisher Island, Florida, and has eight children: Alison Jill, Lauren Heather, Esteban Nataniel, Linda Marie, Melinda Cristina, John Jeffrey, Joshua Patrick and Vladimir Bruce.
