Wendy K. Truitt
Bookkeeper

Wendy Truitt recently joined the Foundation staff and is very excited to be a part of the fast paced environment of the Foundation. Wendy’s parents met in England while her dad served in the Army during World War II. Her mother, a citizen of England, along with her baby daughter, Carol, endured the arduous journey by boat from England to the great United States of America. Her mother made the United States her permanent home and became a naturalized citizen. During her parent’s marriage they had three daughters and one son.

Wendy was raised in a small town as a country girl and came to Indianapolis about 25 years ago. Prior to her position with the Foundation, she was the Operations Manager/Bookkeeper for a small business venture of self-service laundry and tanning salons. Her working career has been a road traveled in many different directions. She has been an Administrative Assistant for many different types of businesses, Multi-Housing Assistant Manager, Newsletter Editor, Caterer, Banquet Coordinator, Automobile Salesperson, Hotel Sales Representative, and Waitress, just to name a few.

She loves all animals and donates regularly to animal charities. She and her husband, Tom, live in Fishers with their two dogs and two cats. Their human family consists of two daughters, one son and currently, four grandchildren, and still counting.

Wendy received her business education at a small college in Danville, Illinois, and went to IUPUI for a Restaurant/Hotel Management degree. After working in the hotel business, she realized the restaurant/hotel industry just wasn’t her cup of tea.

She enjoys writing and won first prize in a national letter writing contest. She writes poetry and hopes to publish a children’s picture book. In her spare time she runs, walks her dogs, plays golf when she has the opportunity, enjoys sharing time and creating memories with her family.
