Since 1914 the Washington Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi has been an important part of the University of Washington community. During the past century, the Chapter has set itself apart from other fraternities on campus by producing men who have distinguished themselves as scholars, athletes, and men of character. Ensuring the academic, character, and leadership development of the current undergraduate members and assisting the Chapter in recruiting and retaining quality men are certainly top priorities. The chapter house, a home away from home for many, has been and continues to be instrumental in achieving excellence in these areas by providing the proper living and learning environment.
The current Phi Psi house is in need to several upgrades and improvements. Such renovations will ensure the original shape and character is retained while the spaces will be improved to provide today’s students with the proper living-learning environment. Today, it is the brothers of WA Alpha who must do what brothers of yesteryear did before, lay the foundation for the success of the brotherhood with a home that promotes scholarship, compassion and leadership as set forth in Phi Psi’s Ritual.
