That’s right. It’s that time of the year again when generous donations from alumni and friends allow the Phi Psi Foundation to award National Scholarships to deserving graduate and undergraduates all across the country. Each year, over $80,000 is up for grabs! This semester was one of the most competitive yet and after review by the scholarship selection committee the winners were selected. Barrett Anderson, Iowa Alpha ’05, was the winner of the Dud Daniel Leadership award as well as being chosen as the Outstanding Summerfield Scholar winner. The Outstanding Summerfield Runner up is Mushfique Billah, District of Columbia Alpha ’05. Patrick Di Gregory, Virginia Alpha, was selected as the Outstanding Summerfield Second Runner Up. The 25 recipients of the Summerfield awards are Matthew Anderson, California Epsilon ’05; James Ansorge, Massachusetts Beta ’06; Michael Barrie, Ohio Epsilon ’04; Brian Blum, Michigan Alpha ’05; Michael Burk, IUPUI Colony; Matthew Deeg, Oklahoma Alpha ’05; Adam Eisenberg, Massachusetts Beta ’06; Adam Epstein, Rhode Island Alpha ’06; Joseph Friedman, Ohio Epsilon ’05; Kevin Gabauer, New Jersey Delta ’06; Ben Glaze, Michigan Alpha ’05; Andrew Hanson, Nebraska Beta ’06; Steve Hornstein, Pennsylvania Theta ’06; Scott Kaser, Arizona Alpha ’05; Luke Li, California Beta ’05; Michael Marcus, California Eta ’03; Christopher Mayer, Georgia Alpha ’06; Kevin Newman, Arizona Alpha ’06; Purak Parikh, New Jersey Delta ’05; Shaival Patel, Illinois Eta ’07; Andrew Pelleymounter, Minnesota Beta ’04; Michael Schallhorn, Indiana Epsilon ’04; James Sims III, Alabama Alpha ’04; Jason Steele, Ohio Theta ’05 and Patrick Wilson, Minnesota Gamma ’05. The winner of the Ernest Garbe award for journalism is Andrew Hanson, Nebraska Beta ’06. Ben Glaze, Michigan Alpha ’05, and Matthew Anderson, California Epsilon ’05, were duel winners of the Winston Tate award for business. The Phi Psi Foundation wishes to congratulate all of the National Scholarship winners for the 2007 school year and encourages Phi Psis to apply online for the Spring 2008 awards. |
